La Redoute and its commitment to emerging brands
The La Redoute brand is no stranger to capsules and collaborations with brands and young designers. Especially since it is in partnership with SPHERE Paris Fashion Week Showroom: a support program for emerging brands and a network developed by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. Thus allowing the platform to discover and subsequently highlight innovative, creative and promising young brands.
The story of Benjamin Benmoyal and the launch of his eponymous brand
Benjamin Benmoyal joined Central Saint Martins in London, and began making fabrics from cassettes by weaving the strips by hand (9 different fabrics 90 meters long). Following this, he won the LVMH Scholarship Prize to finish his schooling at Central Saint Martin s, and will graduate in 2019.
Before founding his eponymous brand in 2020, he worked with major luxury houses such as: Hermès and Alexander McQueen.
Her creations are made from a unique textile, woven from VHS and audio cassettes. It is inspired by the 60s, Pierre Cardin, the space age and retro-futurism.
He designs unique and sustainable fashion, combining technology, know-how, recycling, nostalgia and retro-futurism. Its strength is found through its innovative and responsible ideas, its ethical and societal commitments, and its desire to preserve craftsmanship and the art of know-how.
Benjamin Benmoyal x La Redoute: an exclusive collaboration
For this new summer 2022 collaboration , La Redoute has given free rein to Benjamin Benmoyal. So, he imagined four unisex pieces:
A set consisting of wide, high-waisted pants and a short , off-white jacket, inspired by the sixties. We find clean cuts in this set, with the addition of shoulder pads on the short jacket.
Wide, high-waisted pleated pants , in khaki-colored linen. This piece is very elegant and can be worn with any top. And a cream-colored linen shirt with mandarin collar and long sleeves, which is the basic piece of this collaboration.
Through these four creations, Benjamin Benmoyal drew inspiration from his Egyptian and Moroccan roots. Combining, at the same time, a folkloric, modern, traditional and futuristic universe. All the clothes resulting from this collaboration are made in Europe, in order to reduce production circuits. Prices range from €89.00 to €119.00.
Similar pieces, which you can also find at Louise Marcaud, such as: the Aiding Shirt , the Puszta Pants or the Toundra Jacket . And many more, on the official Louise Marcaud website.
